I totally agree with you Eric and based upon how many stars you gave the film, I can tell you would have a lot to say about the film but Patrick and Scott said a great deal. I am glad this movie is aired on television as much as it is. This was one of my earliest scare flicks and so I did have a wow factor with it. I love the way it is directed, the pacing is great. I definitely like Richard Dreyfuss from yesteryear, more so then anything he has done since Always (what a great movie). To me, this movie is Robert Shaw. When I think of the movie, I think of his lines. "This is the story of Mary McGee, lived to the age of 103. For 50 years she kept her virginity, not a bad record for this vicinity." "Here's to swimming with bow-legged women." Many other lines mixed with sea songs and war stories is what I love about it.

Wesley, I agree with you. As a kid I was all about the shark but now I appreciate this movie for the characters, especially Quint.

I just learned the Peter Benchley was the grandson of Robert Benchley. I had no idea.
