Of course Edward and Bella do not have sex. Vampires do not have any blood, thus they must consume it. Without any substantial amount of blood in his corpse, how could he get an erection?

OR - we could suspend our disbelief for two hours and enjoy what is otherwise a horrible storyline, one dimensional characters, and poor directing.
