"They are all sexually objectified and helpless."
There's nothing wrong with a movie aimed strictly at hetero-sexual men and their more macho instincts. Look at how many chick flicks there are aimed at women where the men are simply some warped female ideal.

"...sooo slanted towards the male perspective." You are such a heterophobe!

Heterophobe? I never said it was slanted towards "straight" males. Rich loved the movie.
Scott, the difference is that both you and Eric have criticized chick flicks for the lack of depth in the male characters but neither of you bothers to point out when the female characters are one dimensional. I, at least, have pointed it out both ways.

Patrick, You object because a father's concern proves to be appropriate? You object because the daughter is a virgin? Does every father have to be Homer Simpson and every daughter Kelly Bundy. I love to break this to you, some Dads have a clue and some kids do not have sex at a young age.

Yes, because every 17 year old girl that visits Paris is abuducted into sex slavery within 10 minutes of arriving.

I didn't object to the daughter being a virgin. I objected to the film's attitude that the "slutty" girl is the one that gets them into trouble. The fact that the daughter is a virgin just adds to the father revenge fantasy. "I must save her before she is despoiled!"
