As you both know Rich can sometimes make snarky comments about the site. Just the other day he was saying, "How can you guys call yourselves serious movie buffs when you don't have The Seventh Seal reviewed yet. I guess we showed him!

Is Rich a film snob?
#2 - Eric - 01/19/2012 - 03:23
Scott, didn't we watch this years ago in our apartment.
#3 - Eric - 01/19/2012 - 08:34
Yes we did. Can you believe that was over 20 years ago?

Rich fancies himself a bit of a film snob. He took some film classes in college at U of M and has worked as a cameraman in television at channel 3 in Kalamazoo.

It's only been half that long since I watched this movie. It's probably Bergman's most accessible film.

It's not as if this more than 50 year old movie has the type of plot where it matters if you give away the ending Eric. And of course Bergman doesn't answer the profound questions of life/death and God's existence as he is clearly saying no one knows the answer to these questions.

Then what was his point?
#8 - Eric - 05/10/2012 - 12:30
I think his point was just what your review said, Eric. He wanted to start a discussion and get people thinking about it.

Exactly and to do so in an interesting and artistic manner.
