Actually, I think this movie shows that Sawyer isn't alright at the beginning. He grows over the course of it, but he's hardly a well-adjusted kid at the start.

Eric, You may not believe this but there are many well adjusted adults that were raised by single parents. One good parent is better than two bad ones.

Eric takes every movie personally. If a movie shows a well-adjusted child raised without a father than it's a personal attack on him because it's saying fathers aren't needed.

Eric, the mere fact that there are two single parents in the same movie together is NOT foreshadowing that they will fall in love. Just because the script didn't go the way you thought it would, doesn't make it a bad script.
